The address of His Highness the Prime Minister at the International Donors and Investors Conference for East Sudan

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sudan,
His Excellency the Secretary General of the League of Arab States,
His Excellency the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council,
His Excellency the Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference,
Their Excellencies the Ministers,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

Assalamu Alikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh

It is with much pleasure that I welcome you to your second home Kuwait, and convey the best wishes of His Highness the Amir, the kind sponsor of this conference. I am very pleased for your attendance and participation in this significant conference to deliberate, and offer aid to the brotherly Republic of Sudan, in order to succeed in its efforts to build and develop East Sudan. We look forward to your consolidated efforts; both donors and investors, to achieve these noble objectives.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Kuwait’s hosting of this conference and the extensive participation of brotherly and friendly countries, demonstrates the strong interest that participating countries and States have by exchanging views, and listening to opinions to find the best means of assisting Sudan to overcome its problems and difficulties it currently faces, and to be able to proceed in achieving development under the umbrella of peace and security, and through our combined efforts to accomplish the objectives of this conference.
We are confident that your participation in this conference is a reflection of your desire to exert all efforts to support Sudan and assist it to attain its goals.

I pray to Almighty Allah that this conference will accomplish the required objectives in supporting the development efforts in East Sudan, and grant us success for the welfare and prosperity of our peoples.
